About us

We are a small Shotokan karate club based on the Wirral training in Bebington and New Ferry. The club was started in the sixties by Sensei Frank Cope under instructions from Sensei Enoeda. Sensei Cope was one of the original members of the famous Red Triangle club of Liverpool and trained under sensei Enoeda and Kanazawa .sensei Cope is now retired and his sons Frank and Ian carry on his tradition.

There are three venues . We practice Kihon, Kumite and Kata adhering to the principles of Sensei Gichin Funakoshi the founder of Shotokan karate.

Please feel free to visit any of the clubs detailed on the maps. You can speak to the club secretaries or instructors at the clubs. You may visit any of the clubs detailed and you will be able to take up membership there and then. Members must be eight years of age or over to join. You will be charged a small, non refundable joining fee and subscriptions are to be paid at the beginning of each calendar month.

You will require a Karate License which is available from the British Martial Arts Association – you will be given an application form for a license when you join. All grading Karateka require a license. or email club secretary for further information
